Of those men who have overturned theliberties of republics, the greatestnumber have begun their career bypaying an obsequious court to thepeople, commencing demagogues andending tyrants. ~Alexander Hamilton

While those on the Left were accusing those on the Right of being "chickenhawks" for not serving in Iraq (never mind the inconvenient fact that many were serving, or had sons/daughters serving), they never quite got around to explaining why they were not serving in a war they claimed to support. Well, as Shakespeare said, “the truth will out.”

The liberal blog Hullabaloo has admitted what those on the Right have known all along: The Left is loaded with cynical hypocrites who will not blink at lying as a strategy.

“Escalation is a bad idea. The Democrats backed themselves into defending the idea of Afghanistan being The Good War because they felt they needed to prove their macho bonafides when they called for withdrawal from Iraq. Nobody asked too many questions sat the time, including me. But none of us should forget that it was a political strategy, not a serious foreign policy.

“There have been many campaign promises ‘adjusted’ since the election. There is no reason that the administration should feel any more bound to what they said about this than all the other committments [sic] it has blithely turned aside in the interest of ‘pragmatism.’”

But none of us should forget that it was a political strategy, not a serious foreign policy.

American soldiers fought and died, lost limbs and friends, watched as their relationships faltered and their children grew precious years older without them, and the Left saw them as political tools.

This should be kept in mind any time liberals harp on policy matters. No matter what the issue—interrogation, intelligence-gathering, how to conduct the war against Islamofascism—there is no reason to believe their ideas are anything more than a cynical political strategy designed to gain power for themselves.

So, this is to you, Hullabaloo, Daily Kos, Firedoglake, Slactivist, and the myriad other bloggers and their commenters sitting in smug anonymous judgment of anyone who doesn’t toe the “progressive” line: You have shown yourselves to be hypocrites who will not truly engage the intellectual and moral issues about which you propound so vociferously. You don’t want to do the real heavy lifting of addressing in a substantive way the life-and-death issues America faces. You would rather stand outside and throw rocks, going after the lives, reputations, and careers of those who do the heavy lifting. You are willing to sacrifice American troops for your own power. You do exactly what you accused Bush of doing for eight years. And you do it all while claiming the moral high ground.

Don’t think we’ll forget. You have shown yourselves to be utterly lacking in integrity and decency. I may be one little blogger with only a fraction of your audience, but I will not forget, and I will do my best to make sure no one else forgets, either.
